Greetings! I’m Darya, a creative communications enthusiast and a passionate photographer slash entrepreneur. I migrated from my native country of Ukraine for academic pursuits in the United Kingdom and later Cyprus, and Canada in 2013 where I now permanently reside. My roles in communication and digital marketing have spanned over half a decade in digital advertising, marketing, social media campaign creation, brand development, customer conversions, and photography. In the past I’ve also acquired some essential skills from professionals in TV broadcasting, gaining experience in filming, video editing, and studio setup. 

Most recently, I’ve had an honour to explore a new terrain in my professional escapades, which led me to discover my passion for racial equity, diversity and inclusion. Working as a Project Manager in Communications with The Inclusion Project I’ve had the privilege to learn the intricacies of racial discrimination and processes to identify and dismantle deeply rooted discriminatory practices within organizational cultures. Exposure to personal experiences of colleagues, friends and key stakeholders, as well as understanding the socio-economic inequalities, systemic barriers, white privilege, and implicit biases led me on a journey of deep exploration and a commitment to become an ally for inclusion and equity.

Partnering with Centaville in the mission to transform and ignite needed change locally and as a result globally too, I believe it’s essential to recognize the importance of allyship as well as the continuity of mutual knowledge, talent, and unique vision exchange on a global scale. As a partner in the mission, I’d like to contribute my acquired skills and knowledge for future projects’ development and planning as well as learn from the team of brilliant people gathered together and united by one cause. As an ally in the mission I’ll act as a representative for Centaville in Canada.
